President Jokowi Condemns Bomb Attack on Sinai’s Ar-Rawda Mosque

Medan, MINA – President Joko Widodo firmly condemned the attack on Ar-Rawda Mosque during Friday prayers in Bir El-Abed town that killed 235 people on Friday, November 4.

“I strongly condemn the attack in North Sinai, Egypt,” neutralnews.com reported, citing the president after the wedding ceremony of Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Afif Nasution in Bukit Hijau Regency Taman Setia Budi housing on Saturday (11/25).

“We offer the deepest sorrow and sympathy of all Indonesians for both the Egyptian government and the victims, as well as the people of Egypt,” he added.

No group has claimed responsibility for this attack yet. However, ISIS-affiliated militant groups have carried out attacks in Egypt before.,” the President added.

Jokowi also asserted that Indonesia will support Egypt in overcoming the condition.

“Indonesia supports Egypt during this time. Cooperation to fight against terrorism and radicalism is our common obligation,” said the President.
