Al-Quds, 11 Muharram 1437/24 October 2015 (MINA) – The Moroccan prime minister said on Wednesday that the Palestinians who stand up to the Israeli occupation in order to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem are defending all Muslims.

Abdelilah Benkirane added that he feels ashamed about the Arabs and Muslims who have left the Palestinians “on their own.”

Speaking to Quds Press, he called on the world to help the Palestinians win back their rights and not allow the imposition of an Israeli fait accompli.

“I am ashamed to speak about what is happening in Jerusalem,” explained Benkirane. “Those who are engaged in confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces have found no alternative solution and they are paying with their lives in defence of Al-Aqsa Mosque which is sacred to all of us.” He said that he is ashamed to talk about them when he cannot give them anything. Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) quoting the Middle East Monitor (MEMO) reported.

“The international community must realise that unless the Palestinians have their rights, the problem will not be solved and will continue to feed all kinds of chaos,” insisted the Moroccan leader. “However, this cannot be solved by force.”

Several demonstrations in support of the Palestinians have been organised in Moroccan universities and major cities. A popular protest is scheduled in Casablanca on Sunday, with the participation of a majority of the Morocco’s political parties and other civil society organisations. (T/P002/R03)
