Jakarta, 2 Jumadil Awwal 1437/10 February 2016 (MINA) – A Palestinian diplomat has said that Al-Aqsa Mosque is still in a dangerous condition, while the neighboring countries around Palestine are preoccupied with conflicts in their respective countries such as Syria and Lebanon.

Egypt is the only hope to help the Palestinians, the first secretary of the Embassy of Palestine to Indonesia, Taher Hammad told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) in an interview here on Wednesday (10/02).

Last week, a recent survey published by the University of Jordan revealed staggering statistics. It turns out 60 percent of the students in the country do not know anything about the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The survey, conducted on 6,000 students in Jordan, simply ask a single question. “Do you know the Al-Aqsa Mosque?”. The result is approximately 60% of the respondents answered “do not know”.

The Islamic Council of the City of Al-Quds said, if it is true , it is a shame and a severe blow to the Muslims.

However, the Egyptian government has implemented a strict policy in relation to the Rafah crossing on the border with the Gaza Strip, Palestine. That policy includes tactics to flood tunnels with seawater. (L/P007/P001)
