PAKISTANI PM APPROVES REGULATION FOR LHW SERVICES

        Islamabad, 9 Rabiul Awwal 1434 H/21 January 2013(MINA) – Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Asharf has approved regularization of services for over 105,000 lady health workers (LHWs) along with the assisting staff besides allowing pension to those who had been retired, Geo News reported Sunday as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

 

      According to the spokesperson for the PM House, the LHWs and their assisting staff whose services have been regularized include those from Islamabad, four provinces, FATA, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

 

       Their services are being regularized with effect from July 1, 2012.

       The prime minister has also granted approval to the clearance of arrears and to the agreement between the Federal Government and provinces in connection with the monetary impact on their budget resulting from the above decision.

 

       He also gave a go ahead to the tabling of a suggestion over the matter of Federal financial assistance at the next meeting of the Council of Common Interest (CCI). (T/R-025/R-006)
