OBAMA A WAR CRIMES: AMNESTY INTL

Washington, 20 Shafar 1435 / 22 January 2014 ( MINA ) – The Amnesty report covered by National Public Radio and CNN on Tuesday, as well as a few other sources has accused Obama administration of “war crimes” in its drone policy.

The human rights organization reviewed forty-five drone strikes in the Pakistani providence of Waziristan since January 2012, and concluded that they “have resulted in hundreds of civilian deaths, some of which may amount to extrajudicial executions or war crimes under international law.

However, the New York Times article ignored the explosive “war crimes” accusation. It was once axiomatic on the left, and in much of the mainstream media, to believe that President George W. Bush and his administration had been responsible for war crimes in Iraq and even in Afghanistan.

Florida state House candidate Joshua Black has made controversial remarks about US President Barack Obama, saying he should be hanged for war crimes. Press tv reported quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

“I’m past impeachment,” the Republican candidate for Florida House District 68 wrote on Twitter. “It’s time to arrest and hang him high.” Following the controversial tweet, Black said Obama should be held responsible for ordering a drone strike that killed a US citizen overseas in 2011.

“He should be executed for treason,” Black said. “I think the appropriate punishment is death…. (Obama) shouldn’t be allowed to kill Americans without a trial.”

Black also posted a message to his supporters on Facebook.”I make no apologies for saying that the president is not above the People. If ordinary Americans should be executed for treason, so should he,” he said.

Now that President Obama has vastly expanded Bush’s drone policy, he has been accused of the same–though the media show considerably less interest in amplifying the charge.

According to his campaign website, the candidate moved to Florida in 2007 after practicing street evangelism in St. Louis. He entered politics in 2012 when he tried to influence the presidential primary.

“It’s deplorable, it’s despicable, and it has no place in public discourse,” Susan Hepworth, the Republican Party of Florida’s communications director, told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. “He should probably just go ahead and bow out of the race.” ( T/P04 /IR / mirajnews.com )
