NON MUSLIM COUNTRIES PAY SERIOUS ATTENTION TO HALAL PRODUCTS
Jakarta, 11 Jumadil Akhir/11 April 2014 (MINA)- The Deputy Director of Reseach Institute for Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI) Sumunar Jati stated the majority of non-Muslim countries pay serious attention to halal products.
“Nowadays, Japan is developing sharia tourism. In Rusia, halal expo are increasing, while United Kingdom (UK) declared as a center of halal cosmetics in the world,” said Sumunar in a seminar at the Global Halal Centre building, Bogor, Wednesday.
“Meanwhile, if we want to export products to Hong Kong, they certainly ask halal certification. Indeed, Hong Kong citizens really pay attention to it, “he added.
As an expert of halal product, he said halal issues is the application of al Qur’an verse (Surah Al Baqarah), which guide people to live healthty through their food security they consume.
LPPOM MUI calls on the producers of food, drugs, cosmetics and daily needs products to certifies its products. So that people, especially Muslims feel secure with the goods they concume and use.
Manufacturers must be responsible to give quarantee by its products. They also have not to cause pollution to the environment.
“To achieve it, manufacturers must use natural (non-chemical) ingredients that not harm human health and also the environment. So, it is guided in Halal certification,” he added.
Meanwhile, the national coffee entrepreneur, Basri Adhi said the main capital in entrepreneurship is the gratitude to Allah for gaining the fortune and blessing. He also initiated the concept of Muslim congregational business to give prosperity to people as much as possible.
Other speakers, the herbal chicken entrepreneur, Kusnadi stated if we think about the others success, then Allah will surely grant our success.
It also stated the Tayib concept in the Qur’an is in accordance with the use of herbal materials that can maintain health and environmental friendly. (L/Nidia/P02/P04/E01)
