No Alternative to Two-State Solution – Palestine President

Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit had talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Cairo, 14 Shawwal 1438/9 July 2017 (MINA) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated on Saturday that there is no alternative to two-state solution for the Palestinian cause, including efforts exerted to achieve conciliation, ending to Palestinian division to restore unity.

The Palestinian leader made his remarks after arriving in Cairo and meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit, KUNA reported.

Abbas stressed importance on the return of a national reconciliation government to take responsibility and move forward toward general election as soon as possible.

The Palestinian leader condemned all forms of terrorism and its sources, affirming on Palestinian support to any Arab or international efforts to eliminate it from the region and the world.

President Abbas noted that Palestinian is part of these collective efforts in combating all kinds of terrorism and radicalism.

Meanwhile, Abbas briefed Abul Gheit on the diplomatic efforts to end the Israeli occupation and the latest regarding the recently added city of Al-Khalil by UNESCO, also known as Hebron, on the World Heritage List. (T/RS5/RS1)
