Jakarta Declaration : The Unity of Muslim Media for The Unity of The Ummah

JAKARTA DECLARATION

THE UNITY OF MUSLIM MEDIA FOR THE UNITY OF THE UMMAH

 

To implement the command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala in protecting Islam and Muslims particularly liberating Palestine and Al Quds Assharief as well as fighting for the justice and peace on the earth, freeing from oppression, tyranny, and the colonialism, the participants of the International Conference of Islamic Media agree to the following protocols:

  1. The unity of Muslim Media is the paramount solution to the crisis of Muslim world especially the Palestine and Al Quds Assharief liberation;
  2. Muslim Media optimize their cooperation in countering the battle of opinions spread by Western and Zionist media;
  3. Muslim Media prioritize Palestine and Al Quds Assharief issues as their headlines;
  4. Cooperation among Muslim Media take such forms as:

  1. Promoting the exchange of news and information on free-of-charge basis;
  2. Improving Human Resources (HR) competence of media crews;
  3. Developing the organizational capacity and performance of Muslim media;
  4. Enhancing public education to raise the awareness of Islamic values;
  5. Strengthening relationship among Muslim media and other media that promote da’wah;
  6. Intensifying the boycott divestment and sanction campaign against Zionist and other destructive movements.
  7. Providing advocacy to oppressed Muslims.

 

  1. The International Muslim Media Alliance is established as a forum to accommodate cooperation among Muslim media considering these following conditions:
  2. The Alliance should be under strong leadership with 3 years of service.
  3. The Alliance should own two kinds of secretariat, permanent and regional ones. The former will reside in Jakarta, while the latter reside in every region.
  4. The Alliance should make regular meeting to maintain the continuation of its operation;
  5. The secretariat of the Alliance is in charge to serve the necessity of institution and all members in order to achieve the missions.
