Israeli Occupation Builds 120 Settlement Outposts Since Past 20 Years

Ramallah, 06 Rabiul Akhir 1438/05 January 2017 (MINA) – Israel has established 120 settlement outposts on private Palestinian land in the past 20 years, KUNA reported, citing Palestinian Chairman of Resisting Israeli Separation Wall and settlements Walid Assaf in a statement on Wednesday.

In a press conference, Assaf also briefed attendance on Israeli violations and plans in the past two years, and ongoing plan for 2017, which will legitimatize these outposts through enacting a legislation on settlement outposts built on private Palestinian land.

The Palestinian official pointed out that Israel military has issued orders after the occupation of Palestinian lands to facilitate confiscation to Palestinian land to set up settlements.

Assaf also pointed out that the number of settlers has increased in the West Bank over the past year and reached 620,000 which is up 27,000 from previous years.

Assaf also noted that the Israeli occupation has turned 15 settlement outposts built on private Palestinian lands into colonies.

With regard to the separation wall, Assaf said Israeli has completed 488 square kilometers of the wall out of planned 714 square kilometers.   (T/RS05/RS01)
