West Bank, MINA – Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian home under construction in the village of Ein al-Beida, located in the northern Jordan Valley east of Tubas in the occupied West Bank, on Thursday, local sources reported.

According to eyewitnesses, Israeli military units accompanied by bulldozers entered the village during morning hours and demolished a 130-square-meter house belonging to Haneen Rafiq Fuqaha. The demolition was carried out under the pretext of construction without a permit.

Residents told local reporters that Israeli occupation authorities had issued a demolition notice to Fuqaha 10 days prior to the operation, claiming the residential structure was built without authorization in Area C, which remains under full Israeli military and administrative control.

Obtaining building permits in Area C is widely documented by human rights organizations as nearly impossible for Palestinian applicants due to restrictive planning policies and extensive administrative and security obstacles imposed by Israeli authorities. Consequently, many Palestinian families resort to constructing homes without permits to address basic housing needs and accommodate family expansion.

## Widespread Demolition Campaign

Data released by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reveals the scope of Israeli demolition activities over the past year. According to the commission, Israeli authorities carried out 538 separate demolition operations, resulting in the destruction of 1,400 structures throughout the occupied territories.

The demolished structures included 304 inhabited homes and 74 uninhabited residential buildings, along with 270 livelihood-related facilities and 490 agricultural structures. The commission further reported that Israeli authorities issued demolition notices against an additional 991 structures, placing numerous Palestinian communities under threat of future displacement.

Human rights organizations have consistently argued that Israel’s systematic demolition policy in Area C forms an integral component of a broader strategy designed to restrict Palestinian development and expansion while simultaneously facilitating the growth of illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Area C constitutes approximately 60 percent of the West Bank and was designated under the Oslo Accords to be gradually transferred to Palestinian administrative control—a transfer that has never materialized. The area remains under exclusive Israeli military and civilian authority, with Palestinians facing extreme difficulties in obtaining construction permits while Israeli settlement construction continues apace.

International law experts consider Israeli settlements in occupied territory, including East Jerusalem and the West Bank, as illegal under the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from transferring parts of its civilian population into territory it occupies.

The demolition in Ein al-Beida follows a pattern of increased Israeli military and administrative actions throughout the West Bank, which have intensified alongside the ongoing military campaign in Gaza. Palestinian residents in Area C communities live under constant threat of home demolitions, displacement, and land confiscation, according to multiple United Nations reports.[]
