Betlehem, 8 Muharram 1435/12 November 2013 (MINA) – Israeli soldiers attacked on Monday (11/11) several Palestinian and visiting Australian journalists visiting the Aida refugee camp, north of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.
The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that the visiting journalists wanted to visit the camp to have a clear idea of the suffering of the refugees, and their living conditions.
The media added that visiting journalists were documenting clashes between a number of local youths and Israeli soldiers, and that the army deliberately targeted the journalists in an attempt to force them out of the camp.
The army claimed several youths threw stones at Israeli soldiers stationed in the fortified military tower, near the Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque in the camp, IMEMC reported as monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).
Talking to the visiting journalists, Mohammad Lufty of the Aida Social Youth Center explained the daily hardships, and Israeli military violations the refugees face.(T/P03)
