Beirut, MINA – Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced on Monday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli offensive, spanning from March 2 to April 6, has risen to 1,497 victims, with 4,639 people injured, according to its Emergency Operations Center, as cited by the Palestine Information Center.

The ministry reported continued Israeli airstrikes across multiple regions, resulting in additional casualties and widespread destruction of buildings and infrastructure. A strike targeting a civilian vehicle at the Kfar Rumman roundabout in Nabatieh district killed four people, while another attack on the southern town of Haris left two civilians dead.

In a notable escalation, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs after issuing renewed warnings to residents in several areas, including Ghobeiry, Burj al-Barajneh, Haret Hreik, Chiyah, Laylaki, Hadath, and Tahwitat al-Ghadir.

Airstrikes and artillery shelling also hit numerous towns in southern Lebanon, including Tyre Debba, Majdal Zoun, Qleileh, Doueir, Debbine, Bazouriyeh, Jmaijmeh, Majdal Selm, Zebdine, Qana, Halta, and Khiam, among others.

The bombardment extended to the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, targeting areas such as Mashghara, Sohmor, Qalia, and Zelaya, amid ongoing aerial and artillery attacks. Meanwhile, Israeli forces demolished homes in the town of Bayyada, alongside heavy aerial activity by warplanes and drones across Lebanese airspace, reaching as far as the capital, Beirut.[]
