Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition Launches Website

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has launched a special website on the internet in three languages including Arabic.

Riadh, MINA – The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, IMCTC, has launched a special website on the Internet in three languages including Arabic, English and French, reported the Saudi Press Agency, SPA.

According to the agency, the website provides a platform for providing official information and data on the work of the coalition within its four areas of work in intellectual, media, counter-terrorism financing, and military fields.

The IMCTC was founded in Riyadh at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to unite the efforts of Islamic countries in confronting terrorism.

Saudi Arabia’s original announcement of the alliance on 15 December 2015 listed 34 countries as participants, each also a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and forming about 60% of all OIC member states. As of November, 2017, there are 41 member countries.

At the time of the original announcement, more than ten other Islamic countries, including Indonesia (the world’s largest Muslim nation), had expressed their support for the alliance, and Azerbaijan was discussing joining the alliance. (T/RS5/RS1)
