Tehran, MINA – Three US aircraft were hit by the Iranian forces in Iran’s skies on Friday, marking a bad day for the United States as military jets and support helicopters faced fire in separate incidents.

Quds News Network (QNN) reports, an F-15 Eagle (or an F-35 according to Iran) was reportedly hit by Iranian air defenses. Search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate the pilots. Reports indicate that one pilot may have been rescued, but the second remains missing. The incident represents a serious setback for US forces.

A second aircraft, an A-10 Warthog, crashed near the Strait of Hormuz. The pilot was safely rescued, according to sources cited by The New York Times. The A-10, designed for ground attack, crashed due to alleged ‘operational hazards in the area’.

Meanwhile, a US Black Hawk helicopter came under Iranian fire while assisting in the search for the F-15 crew inside Iranian territory. All personnel aboard were unharmed, according to American officials cited by Newsmax reporter Carla Bab. The helicopter sustained damage.

These incidents come as Iran is actively defending its airspace using both large systems like the S-300 and Bavar-373, and smaller, mobile setups such as the Majid air defense system.

President Donald Trump previously claimed that US forces had destroyed Iran’s defenses. However, these latest incidents cast doubt on Trump’s statements. []
