International Islamic School Launched in Indonesia

Jakarta, MINA – International Islamic School called Knowledge Link Intercultural School (KLIS) which was initiated by K-Link Indonesia launching in Jakarta, Tuesday.

KLIS International Islamic School at the primary level (Primary School) is opened in Sentul, Bogor and Secondary Schools (Middle and High School) in K-Link Tower, Jakarta.

KLIS Secondary applies international curriculum namely Oxford AQA curriculum and KLIS Primary uses Cambridge curriculum that was carried out ahead of 17th Anniversary of K-Link.

The launch was marked by holding of an international education seminar held by K-Link through collaboration KLIS and Asian Islamic Universities Association (AIUA) bearing the theme “International Forum on Islam, Education, and Global Peace” at K-Link Tower Ballroom, South Jakarta , Tuesday.

The seminar discussed curriculum of KLIS which was presented a number of international education figures from inside and outside country, including, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Bin Yahya Al-Ninowy (Founder of Madina Institute from the United States), Prof. Dr. M. Amin Abdullah (Former Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Indonesia), Prof. Dr. Amany Lubis (Chancellor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta), Dr. Mikdar Rusdi (Senior Assistant Professor from Seri Begawan Religious College, Brunei Darussalam).

Moreover, Prof. Dr. Ismal Lutfi Japakya (Chancellor of Fatoni University, Thailand), Dato ‘Dr. Muhammad Nur Manuty (Chairman of UNISZA, Malaysia), Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada (Professor of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta), Dr. Mahmod Khatib (Speaker from South Africa), Dato Series of Dr. Zambry (Former Minister of Silver, Malaysia).

A total of 60 universities become members of AIUA association that attended the seminar, such as UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Sultan Azlan Shah University Malaysia, Madina Institute, Fatoni University, and so on.

The seminar aimed to help all members to strengthen their tertiary institutions to achieve good quality. Graduates from KLIS will be made easier to enter in a number of well-known Islamic universities in the world. (L/Sj/R04)
