INDONESIAN STUDENTS IN NETHERLANDS HOLD CARE-NATION EVENT

     Tilburg, 12 Jumadil Akhir 1434/21 April  2013 (MINA)  –  Despite long distance with their country, Indonesian Students Association (PPI) in Netherlands showed their concern  by holding a “Media Festival KLIK of Dutch PPI” which presented former Indonesian president BJ Habibi on Saturday (20/4) in Tilburg, Holland.
 
      “We are the students who are in the land of Europe has never forgotten where we came from. We have a duty and responsibility as an educated person, not just looking for competence to ourselves but also to contribute our knowledge and the ideas to the people in Indonesia to be getting better,” said KLIK chairman Alfonso Danielsaut as quoted by its official website.
 
    
     Rihan Handaulah, one of the participant, told Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) via facebook that  the background of this event was  to increase the awareness of Indonesian’s youth especially those skeptical of the progress in the field of economy.
 
      “We would like to invite all of Indonesian’s youth to wake up and change skepticism about Indonesia Nations progress,” he said.
 
     Alfonso wished the program can be a creativity spot for Indonesian students in the Netherlands and also gave a message through the small movement, which wants a better change for Indonesia.
 
     The event was attended by 150 Indonesian students from all over the Ntherlands, which  also followed by other foreign students.  
 
     After that, PPI will hold  an International Conference on Indonesian Development (ICID). This event will be  the top event of the events which which will be held on September 12 to 14, 2013 in the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University, The Hague, The Netherlands.
 
     This conference will be the main forum for young scholars and researchers from different disciplines who have an interest in the study of the development of Indonesia to share research findings and discuss topics of the contemporary knowledge-based economic development. (T/P03/E1)
