Indonesia-Denmark Explore Religious Cooperation

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin received a visit from the Ambassador of Special Representatives for Danish Royal Religious or Belief Freedom, H.E. Michael Suhr to explore cooperation in the religious field for a better world civilization.

“I feel happy and grateful to accept a noble presence with the Ambassador. This is an honor for us to visit, and of course, I would like to welcome Indonesia, hopefully a lot of good impressions will be taken home, “said Lukman in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Lukman stated that Suhr’s presence was very important and strategic, not only for Indonesia but also for the world. Because, freedom of religion and belief is something very important of basic human rights.

“All of us must maintain, maintain and develop the freedom of religion and belief,” he added.

On this occasion, the Royal Ambassador of Denmark also asked Minister of Religious Affairs’s view regarding the cooperation could be mobilized not only between Indonesia and Denmark but also the world to promote freedom of religion and belief.

“In my opinion, the most important thing now is that, we can restore the essence of religion to its true position and function,” said Lukman. (T/Sj)
