IIIF Held in Jakarta for the First Time

Jakarta, MINA – The Embassy of India in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry of Marine Affairs held the first time the India – Indonesia Infrastructure Forum (IIIF) in Jakarta, Monday (19/3).

The Forum was attended by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, 30 high-level delegates and Indian CEOs from various sectors, such as of seaport services, electricity, airports, water resources management, housing system management and health services, as well as 4.0 and IT industries for infrastructure projects.

In his speech, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Pradeep K Rawat said India’s economic growth and the success of Indian investment abroad are increasing.

“For that, we hope that India and Indonesia can make greater synergies in the industrial sector, especially in infrastructure,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan welcomed Indian business expansion to Indonesia and provided them with an improved investment climate in Indonesia.

“Infrastructure development is a top priority for the Indonesian government. Both India and Indonesia will also work together to open direct flights between the two countries, “Luhut said.

He hopes that the IIIF will result in real cooperation between the two countries.

This activity is also a meeting B to B between representatives of Indian companies and Indonesian companies. A significant business prospect will appear at the meeting which is then followed up by both parties.

Indonesia is an important trading partner of India in the ASEAN region and this is the first event that exclusively focuses on increasing the participation of Indian investors in building infrastructure in Indonesia. It is also expected to be an annual event in collaboration with various Indonesian government institutions. (L/R04/RS5)
