Hundreds Join Pro-Palestine Solidarity Rally in Central Jakarta

Jakarta, MINA – Hundreds of people took part in a solidarity rally for Palestine in the Horse Statue area of Central Jakarta on Sunday. The event served as a platform for the public to express their concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“We hope that through today’s action, Indonesia will continue to play an active role in international diplomacy to push for the protection of civilians, increase access to humanitarian aid, and support steps that can prevent further escalation of violence in Gaza,” said M. Syauqi, coordinator of the Palestine Solidarity Action in a press statement.

During the peaceful rally, participants voiced their concerns over the dire conditions facing civilians affected by the conflict, including limited access to food, clean water, and healthcare, as well as the destruction of public facilities such as homes, schools, and places of worship.

Several figures and activists attended the event, including Muhammad Husein. He called on the Indonesian people to continue providing humanitarian support and prayers for the safety of the Palestinian people.

According to Syauqi, the rally was a form of public concern over humanitarian issues and a reaffirmation of support for conflict resolution through diplomacy and international law. He noted that Indonesia has long been committed to upholding the rights of the Palestinian people, as enshrined in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution.

The action proceeded in an orderly and peaceful manner. Participants expressed hope that public awareness of humanitarian issues would remain strong and that efforts prioritizing peace, civilian protection, and the delivery of humanitarian aid in accordance with international law would continue to be promoted.[]
