Hate Crimes against Muslims in US up 67 Pct – FBI

Washington,15 Safar 1438/15 November 2016 (MINA) – The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed Monday that hate crimes against Muslims in US have shot up by 67 percent between 2014 and 2015.

Overall, they have increased by seven percent across the country as nearly 50 percent of the offenders were of the non-Muslim white race, KUNA quoted the agency as saying in its 2015 Hate Crime Statistics report.

Over three-quarters of all the reported incidents, 5,818 people were motivated by racial or religious bias, the report said, adding that remaining incidents were due to gender bias or sexual orientation.
