Gaza, MINA – The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has reaffirmed its commitment to the Gaza ceasefire while accusing Israel of continuous violations and attempting to obstruct the work of the newly formed national administration committee.
In a statement to the Safa news agency on Thursday, Hamas highlighted the human cost of the truce period.
The movement stated that approximately 484 Palestinians have been killed and 1,297 others injured by Israeli fire since the ceasefire began, criticizing the lack of real international pressure to stop these ongoing violations.
Hamas argued that participants in the recent Davos forum should have focused on these “continuing crimes” which undermine efforts to maintain the truce, reopen crossings, withdraw Israeli forces, and begin reconstruction.

Hamas called on the newly established Peace Council to take responsibility for compelling Israel to meet its obligations under the agreement. This includes ensuring the delivery of aid and shelter supplies and starting relief and reconstruction, especially as Gaza faces severe winter weather.
The statement emphasized the need to protect Palestinians from the worsening humanitarian crisis.[]
