Airport Train to Operate from Jakarta Today

Jakarta, MINA – An Airport Train will start operation from Jakarta towards the Soekarno-Hatta international airport in Cengkareng, Banten, on Tuesday morning (Dec 26) at 03:47 a.m. local time, with one-trip fare promotion of Rp30t housand.

“The trip trial will start tomorrow (Tuesday), and it is the beginning of commercial operation,” Antara News reported, citing President Director of the state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia, Edi Sukmoro, here on Monday.

Edi also stated that the Rp30 thousand promo fare price will be during the testing phase, with the community expected to give input for full operation in January 2018.

The airport train will start from Sudirman Baru (BNI City) station in Jakarta and head to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is about 30 kilometers away.

Edi further noted that the fare price will be Rp70 thousand starting from Jan 2, 2018.

The airport train consists of six trains per circuit that can accommodate 272 passengers and 42 trips.

The Airport train will be directly connected to the Skytrain, which will connect to Terminal 1, 2, and 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and the tickets can be bought at the station.

Meanwhile, the departure schedule of Soekarno-Hatta Airport train starts at 03:40 a.m. at the Sudirman Baru (BNI City) station up to Soekarno-Hatta and at 06:10 a.m. to 11:10 p.m. (T/RS5/RS1)
