Abu Dhabi, 19 Jumadal Awwal 1436/March 10, 2015 (MINA) – Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a top-tier Islamic financial services institution, has received 10 prestigious awards at the Islamic Finance News Awards Ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton at the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC), Thursday (March 5), making it the most awarded bank at the event.

The ceremony was attended by the world’s top Islamic financial institutions, law firms and ratings agencies, as well as a number of ADIB’s senior managers, Zawya.com quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Among the accolades given to ADIB was recognition for its acquisition of BarclaysUAE Retail Banking businessfor which it won the Corporate Finance Deal of the Year award.

“We are of course delighted and humbled by the awards we are receiving, which serve to underline the progress we are making within our part of the banking industry, but also in the overall banking industry,” said Tirad Al Mahmoud, ADIB’s CEO.

“We are always seeking to deliver world-class banking solutions, new and innovative products and excellent customer service to keep us ahead of our competitors. We do not take such recognition for granted, and know that year after year we have to meet and exceed our own high standards to deserve awards such as these.” He added.

ADIB Egypt was also recognised during the event,winning Best Islamic Bank in Egypt, as well as Infrastructure & Project Finance Deal of the Year.

The Islamic Finance News awards are highly respected in the Islamic finance and banking industry globally. They are based on a unique poll-based format in which nearly 3,000 votes are cast by leading practitioners and participants in the industry.

Most recently, ADIB has been named Best Islamic Bank in the UAE for the fifth year in a row by EMEA Finance magazine.
