Cairo, 12 Dzulqa’dah 1436/27 August 2015 (MINA) – The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Mosque Dr. Abbas Shuman recently announced the appointment of 500 female preachers which considered the first of its kind to open working positions for women in the field of dawa and ifta.
The efforts of Al-Azhar Mosque and the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments are a response to the calls of the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, about renewing the religious approach last January, IINA News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Shuman pointed out that Al-Azhar Mosque have completed a center for live fatwas which will receive questions through modern methods such as phone and e-mail, and that the center is set to work soon.
The Undersecretary also noted that the center will employ more than 300 scholars and also will provide its’ services throughout the day and night without interruption. (T/R05/R03)
