Gaza, MINA – The spokesperson of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, has called for widespread protests across Palestine and around the world, urging people to mobilize in defense of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian detainees and hostages.

Quoted by Quds News Agency (QNN), Abu Ubaida said on Sunday, the region faces brutal military aggression that violates international law and tears apart the principles of the United Nations Charter. He stated that Israel is expanding its attacks beyond Gaza, spreading destruction across multiple fronts in the region.

He said recent actions show that Israeli escalation has not been limited to Gaza, but has also targeted Lebanon and Yemen, while threatening other countries. He added that the situation reflects a broader pattern of regional destabilization.

Abu Ubaida placed the main focus on public action. He called on Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and 1948-occupied territories to march toward Al-Aqsa Mosque. He also urged people across the Arab and Muslim world, as well as international supporters, to take to the streets in protest.

He stressed that any harm to Al-Aqsa or Palestinian detainees would not go unanswered, regardless of the cost. He described the issue as a red line and a central point of unity for Palestinians.

The Hamas spokesperson sharply criticized international double standards. He said global powers continue to demand concessions from Palestinians while ignoring Israel’s ongoing violations on the ground.

He also condemned proposed Israeli legislation related to Palestinian detainees and hostages, calling it a “stain of shame” on those who remain silent. He argued that such measures reflect a broader policy of escalation rather than de-escalation.

Abu Ubaida said the Palestinian side has fulfilled its obligations in ongoing mediation efforts. He called on mediators to pressure Israel to commit to earlier phases of any agreement before moving forward.

He stated that Israel obstructs progress and urged the United States to take responsibility, criticizing its position as biased.

The statement linked developments in Gaza to wider regional tensions. Abu Ubaida expressed support for Lebanon and praised the Lebanese resistance, while also referencing actions by Iran and Yemen as part of a broader response to Israeli and US policies.

Abu Ubaida warned against internal divisions within the region. He said distractions and internal conflicts weaken collective strength at a time when external forces are targeting key sources of power.

He concluded by urging Palestinians to carry out “qualitative operations” in defense of detainees and hostages, while reiterating that the region’s future should be determined by its own people. []
