Washington, MINA – President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the current US military aggression in Iran, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, is projected to last four to five weeks but could be extended significantly if necessary to achieve its objectives, Anadolu Agency reports.

Speaking at a White House ceremony, Trump indicated that the campaign against Iran is progressing “ahead of schedule” while leaving open the possibility of a longer engagement.

“We projected four to five weeks, but we have capability to go far longer than that. We’ll do it,” the president stated.

The military aggression, which began on Saturday in coordination with Israel, has already resulted in high-profile casualties including the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top security officials. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that four American service members have been killed in action on the third day of the joint attacks.

Trump framed the military aggression’s duration as directly tied to the dismantling of what he described as Iran’s rapidly expanding conventional missile infrastructure, characterizing it as an urgent and growing threat to American security.

“Today, the United States military continues to carry out large-scale combat operations in Iran to eliminate the grave threats posed to America by this terrible terrorist regime,” Trump said, emphasizing that Iran’s conventional ballistic missile program was growing “rapidly and dramatically.”

The president outlined three clear objectives for Operation Epic Fury: destroying Iran’s missile capabilities, annihilating its navy, noting that ten ships have already been knocked out and ensuring that Iran can never obtain a nuclear weapon.

“This posed a very clear, colossal threat to America and our forces stationed overseas. The regime already had missiles capable of hitting Europe and our bases, both local and overseas, and would soon have had missiles capable of reaching our beautiful America,” he added.

Trump expressed condolences to the families of the four American service members killed during the operation, pledging to continue the mission in their honor.

“In their memory, we continue this mission with ferocious, unyielding resolve to crush the threat this terrorist regime poses to the American people,” he said, describing the current offensive as America’s “last best chance” to eliminate what he termed “intolerable threats.”

The US and Israel launched joint strikes against Iran on February 28, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions. The military aggression has drawn international concern, with UN officials and world leaders calling for restraint as the conflict threatens to expand beyond its initial scope.[]
