Gaza, MINA – For the 81st consecutive day, Israeli occupation military forces have carried out new attacks across the Gaza Strip, violating the ceasefire agreement in place since October 2025.

According to Palestinian media sources, Israeli artillery targeted eastern areas of Gaza City, while an airstrike hit eastern Khan Yunis in the south. Warplanes also struck near the eastern cemetery of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. In a separate incident, three civilians were injured in an Israeli attack on Jabalia refugee camp in the north.

The ongoing assaults are worsening an already catastrophic humanitarian situation, with severe shortages of fuel, water, and reconstruction materials due to Israeli restrictions. Basic services continue to deteriorate, leaving much of the population without adequate shelter, healthcare, or clean water.

Further compounding the crisis, a new winter storm brought heavy rain and strong winds to Gaza over the weekend, flooding and destroying tents housing displaced families. Many who already lost homes in the war are now exposed to harsh weather with minimal protection.

Politically, efforts to advance to the next phase of the ceasefire have grown more complicated. Reported disagreements have emerged between the U.S. administration and the Israeli government over priorities in Gaza, specifically whether to focus on reconstruction or the disarmament of Palestinian factions. These disputes are expected to be addressed during US President Donald Trump’s meeting today with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington.[]
