Gaza, MINA – The United Nations has raised serious concerns over the intensifying Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, revealing that attacks are now occurring approximately every eight to nine minutes, Anadolu Agency reported.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, speaking at a news conference, cited the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), stating that the past 24 hours saw a dramatic increase in Israeli operations, which are having a devastating impact on civilians.
According to Dujarric, around 16,500 people were displaced from Northern Gaza to the south in a single day, and hundreds of thousands remain trapped in Gaza City, facing insecurity and dependence on humanitarian aid. He emphasized that critical services in Gaza have either closed or been forced to relocate due to ongoing violence.
“Aid workers remain stationed along displacement routes, offering psychosocial first aid and referring people to specialized services when needed,” he said. However, limited access and continued airstrikes are hindering their ability to respond effectively.

The spokesperson also noted severe restrictions on humanitarian access by Israeli authorities. Of the 15 aid movements coordinated on Thursday, only seven were fully facilitated. OCHA continues to urge Israel to ensure unimpeded humanitarian operations throughout Gaza.
In the occupied West Bank, the situation remains dire as well, with over 3,000 Palestinians, half of them children displaced since October 2023 due to illegal settler violence and Israeli-imposed access restrictions. []
