916,000 Pilgrims Arrive So Far in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Indonesian Haj flight 2nd phase arrives in Jeddah

 

Jeddah, MINA – As many as 916,000 pilgrims have so far arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The General Directorate of Passports said in its daily statistics that 878,567 pilgrims arrived by air; 35,023 by land; and 2972 by sea, an increase by 22% (165,013) pilgrims compared to same period last year,SPA reported.

The Kingdom is preparing during this year’s Hajj season 1438 H (2017 D) to receive the largest Haj season in its history after the issuance of the Royal Decree to increase the number of pilgrims with the completion of the expansion of the Two Holy Mosques, which means the addition of 800,000 pilgrims for this season.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has completed all its preparations and increased the efficiency of its sectors through diligent work and cooperation with its partners in the Hajj and Umrah system in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to provide the best services to the pilgrims.

For its part, the Ministry’s media center monitored, in a report, the stages of development of services and the employment of modern techniques and utilization of the current technologies as well as raising the efficiency of employees in the service of pilgrims. (T/RS5/RS1)
