Nagan Raya, MINA – The Nagan Raya Regency Government in Aceh Province confirmed that 220 elementary and junior high school students in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang Subdistrict are still carrying out teaching and learning activities in emergency tents after being affected by floods.
Head of the Nagan Raya Education Office, Zulkifli, said on Friday that despite the limited conditions, the students’ enthusiasm for learning remains strong.
“Thank God, although affected by the floods, students in Beutong Ateuh continue attending school, even in temporary facilities,” Zulkifli told the media.
He explained that the number of students still studying in emergency facilities includes 97 students from Beutong Ateuh State Junior High School, consisting of 54 male students and 43 female students.

Meanwhile, at Beutong Ateuh Banggalang State Elementary School 1, there are 123 students, consisting of 55 male students and 68 female students.
According to Zulkifli, although the original school buildings cannot yet be used due to flood damage, the local government has made efforts to provide temporary facilities to ensure that educational activities continue.
He emphasized that this step reflects the local government’s commitment to maintaining the continuity of education despite the disaster affecting the area.
The local government is also continuing to seek long-term solutions so that students can return to studying in more proper and safe facilities.[]
