10 INDONESIAN VOLUNTEERS STILL STUCK IN EGYPT BORDER

El Arish, 10 Jumadil Awwal 1435/11 March 2014 (MINA) – Conditions that are not conducive in Gaza-Egypt border left 10 Indonesian volunteers can not cross the border into Egypt, even though they have tried for two weeks to get out of Gaza, but have not been successful so far.

The are many cases in the border that make Indonesian volunteers still stuck at the border, with a reason to maintain the safety of the volunteers, the Egyptian government has not allowed the group of volunteers out of Gaza.

Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) also seeks to assist in coordination with the Egyptian authorities at the border.

Yesterday seven policemen were shot dead by Egyptian Bedouins, and before there was a fugitive break into the armory and stole some military weapons.

“Today I am going to the border with the Embassy staff to try to coordinate and pick the Indonesian volunteers up,” Amran Hamdani, Tv one reporter who was on duty in Egypt told Miraj Islamic News Agency on Tuesday.

“We set out from Cairo yesterday afternoon and arrived in the Arish city, nearest city to the border at three evening. This morning we went on a trip to the border. The trip from border to the city of Arish is around 100km, while total trip is around 600km, we wish all of them could go out today,” Amran added.

Earlier, 19 volunteers who have worked for the construction of  the Indonesian Hospital  in Gaza, Palestine arrived in Indonesia. (L/P015/E01).
