Gaza, 8 Shawwal 1435/4 August 2014 (MINA) – Minister of Religious and Waqf Affairs of Gaza, Dr. Hasan Al Shaifi, stated on Sunday that Zionist Israeli occupation regime forces had attacked at least 16 public cemeteries in Gaza.

“We wonder why a place of dead people became target of Israeli occupation regime forces attacks,” said Al Shaifi when contacted by al-Aqsa radio, Sunday, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) Correspondent in Gaza reported.

Beside cemetery, at least 41 mosques were destroyed and 120 others partially destroyed since beginning of Israeli occupation regime forces attack until Sunday. AL-Shaifi said he would remain echoing adzan (calling for prayer) in Gaza Strip.

“You destroy our mosques, we will keep performing five-times daily prayers , we pray on this earth. We will never stop echoing adzan and we will win with Allah’s blessing,” said Al Shaifi.

A number of mosques became target of Israeli occupation regime forces attacks in Gaza. Zionist Israelis suspected the mosques became places for storing weapons and hiding by fighters.

Al Shaifi explicitly denied it. He claimed the mosque only for worship. “All Palestinian people know about it ( mosque is place for worship) but Israel occupation regime forces argue that the fighters hide in the mosques . Why do they also attack church? Actually Israeli occupation regime forces attack has failed in Gaza, so they attack schools, hospitals and places of worships,” he said. (K01/Syt/E01)
