We Spent $120 Billion in Anti-Terrorism War, Pakistan Says

Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal.

Islamabad, MINA – Pakistan has spent 120 billion dollars in its war against terrorism over the past 15 years, SPA reported Sunday, citing Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammad Faisal.

He said in a press statement that Pakistan has fought the war on terrorism with its own resources to clear its territory of terrorism.

He further added that the financial support provided by the United States of America to Pakistan in the fight against terrorism has been spent on sources that are in the interest of U.S.

The United States has confirmed it was suspending most security assistance to Pakistan for harboring terrorist groups, KUNA reported.

The announcement follows charged comments between Trump and Pakistani officials earlier this week. In his first tweet of the new year, Trump blasted Pakistan for giving “nothing but lies and deceit” despite receiving billions in foreign aid.

In response, Pakistan leaders said Trump’s comments were “completely incomprehensible” and could damage the trust between the two countries.
