Tehran, MINA – The number of American casualties in the ongoing US-Israeli offensive against Iran continues to rise, with US Central Command (CENTCOM) reporting that 18 service members have been “seriously wounded” since the operation began, according to CNN.
CENTCOM spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins provided the updated casualty figures as the joint military campaign entered its third day. The update follows the confirmation of a fourth US fatality, a service member who succumbed to wounds sustained during Iran’s initial wave of retaliatory strikes. Sources told CNN that all four American deaths resulted from the same attack in Kuwait.
In a separate incident, CENTCOM reported that three US F-15E Strike Eagles, which were flying in support of the operation, went down over Kuwait due to an “apparent friendly fire incident.” All six crew members ejected safely and were recovered in stable condition.
The strikes, which were launched on Saturday, have resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has launched extensive drone and missile strikes targeting US military bases and assets across several Gulf countries.[]
