Banda Aceh, MINA – Ar-Raniry State Islamic University (UIN) Banda Aceh is one step closer to opening its Undergraduate Medical Program and Professional Doctor Education Program.

The university aims to accept new students this year after undergoing a field evaluation by the Directorate of Institutions at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.

The evaluation for the opening of the medical program took place in a hybrid format on Thursday, centered at the Prof. Ali Hasjmy Auditorium at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh.

This evaluation stage is a crucial step before issuing an operational permit. The evaluation team assesses the university’s readiness, including academic documents, curriculum, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and support from a teaching hospital.

The Rector of UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, Prof. Dr. Mujiburrahman, MAg, stated that his institution has prepared all the necessary requirements for opening the Medical Program in accordance with government-set standards.

“Alhamdulillah, with the support of the entire academic community, the Aceh Government, the Pidie Regency Government, and the Banda Aceh City Government, we have seriously prepared all the instruments, documents, human resources, physical facilities, and infrastructure,” said Mujiburrahman.

According to him, the field evaluation provided an opportunity for UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh to obtain input from the evaluation team and ensure that all requirements for establishing a study program were met.

Mujiburrahman stated that the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine was not simply the addition of a new study program, but part of the university’s strategy to strengthen its contribution to health development in Aceh.
