UAE Distributes More Ramadan Aid in Vietnam

Hanoi, 20 Ramadan 1437/26 June 2016 (MINA) – The UAE Embassy in Vietnam has distributed food aid donated to 200 underprivileged families in cooperation with the management of Noureddine Mosque in An Giang province, on the Cambodian border.

The aid was donated by the Emirates Red Crescent, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting Kuna.

Most of the beneficiary families work in fishing.

The Embassy also handed cash money to the management of the mosque to fund iftar banquets for Muslims in the province.

Based on April 1999 census, there were 63,146 Muslims in the country.

Over 77% lived in the South Central Coast, with 34% in Ninh Thu?n Province, 24% in Bình Thun Province, and 9% in Ho Chi Minh City; another 22% lived in the Mekong Delta region, primarily in An Giang Province. (T/R07/R01)
