UAE IN 3-DAYS MOURNING AS DUBAI RULER’S SON PASSES AWAY

Abu Dhabi, 6 Dzulhijjah 1436/20 September 2015 (MINA ) – UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan declared three days of mourning across at government departments and institutions after Sheikh Rashid (33-year old) son of Dubai’s ruler passed away, on Saturday morning.

Sheikh Rashid, son of the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Muhammud Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, suffered a heart attack, WAM Agency reported, quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

Sheikh Rashid was born in 1981, and was the eldest son of Sheikh Muhammad. He was a keen horse lover and was the owner of Zabeel Stables.

Rashid’s brother Sheikh Hamdan is the Crown Prince of Dubai. “Today, I lost a best friend and a childhood companion, my dear brother Rashid,” said Sheikh Hamdan. “You will be missed.”

Sheikh Khalifa expressed his heartfelt condolences and solace to Sheikh Muhammad. Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, expressed his sincere condolences to the Al-Maktoum family. (T/P4/R03)
