Turkish Trade Delegation Pops Blocaded Gaza
Gaza, 23 Rabi’ul Akhir 1436/2 February 2016 (MINA) – The Gaza district chamber of trade and industry received a Turkish delegation headed by Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.
Head of Gaza’s trade Chamber, Waleed al-Husari, welcomed the Turkish delegation. He stressed the deep Turkey-Palestine fraternity bonds and hailed the ongoing efforts made by Turkey to lift the Israeli siege on Gaza and initiate a waterway.
Al-Husari further drew attention to the strong ties connecting Gaza’s Trade Chamber and Turkish economic institutions, including Istanbul’s Commerce Chamber and Commerce University, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Speaking on behalf of the Palestinians, al-Husari thanked the Turkish people and government for their pro-Palestine back-up and funding of charity projects, including the Turkish Hospital in the occupied territories.
For his part, the Turkish delegate, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “President Erdogan sends you his kindest regards.” “You are always present in our prayers.
We feel all the pain you’ve been made to endure. Your happiness and ours are just one and the same,” he added.
The Turkish envoy reiterated Turkey’s readiness to work on alleviating the tragic situation in blockaded Gaza, calling on his country to carry on with the industrial zone project initiated in Beit Hanun and which will provide jobs for over 10,000 Palestinians. (T/P008/R07)
