Gaza, MINA – Tens of thousands of people took to the streets across Europe on Saturday in a show of solidarity with Palestine, protesting Israel’s continued attacks on the Gaza Strip despite an ongoing ceasefire and calling on European governments to halt arms sales to Israel, Anadolu Agency reports.
In the United Kingdom, large crowds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered at London’s Russell Square before marching toward Whitehall, home to the Prime Minister’s Office at 10 Downing Street and other key government institutions. The national march was organized to denounce what protesters described as Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
Demonstrators condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire and criticized the British government for continuing arms exports to Israel. Carrying Palestinian flags and placards, protesters chanted slogans against both Israel and the UK government, urging authorities, public institutions, and companies to withdraw support for actions they say violate international law.
Several public figures joined the march, including British Members of Parliament Zarah Sultana and John McDonnell, as well as British-Palestinian doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta, who has previously worked in Gaza.

Along the march route, a small group of pro-Israel demonstrators staged a counter-protest, waving Israeli and British flags and attempting to provoke the pro-Palestinian crowd.
Meanwhile, in Sweden, hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Stockholm’s Odenplan Square to protest Israel’s attacks on Gaza and its restrictions on humanitarian aid. The protest, organized by various civil society groups, accused Israel of violating the ceasefire that came into effect on Oct. 10, 2025, by continuing airstrikes and limiting the entry of humanitarian assistance.
Protest banners carried messages such as “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are being bombed,” “Stop the attacks on Gaza,” “End food restrictions,” and “Israel must comply with the peace agreement.” Demonstrators also urged the Swedish government to end arms sales to Israel.
Speaking to Anadolu, Swedish activist Lasse Adestedt said that opposing injustice anywhere in the world is a moral responsibility.
