Brussels, 27 Dzulqa’dh 1436/11 September 2015 (MINA) – High level diplomatic and political sources said that ten European countries are willing to vote in favour of the UN Palestinian flag initiative.

The sources said that ten European countries will vote in favour of the resolution, denying the Israeli claims that the EU countries will abstain from voting on the bill suggested by the Arab Countries to raise the flags of Non- members states at the UN, like Palestine and the Vatican.

The sources added that France will lead the European countries to vote Yes for the resolution, Palestine News Network (PNN) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

the UN is expected on Thursday (10/9) to green-light the initiative in a symbolic move highlighting Palestinian aspirations for statehood.

The General Assembly will vote at 3 p.m. New York time on a draft resolution that diplomats say is almost certain to garner a majority in the 193-nation forum.

Secretary General of the PLO Executive Committee, Dr. Saeb Erekat called upon the international community to support the initiative, saying that it will send a strong message of support to the realization of the two-state vision, and in honoring the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.(T/P008/R04)
