Tehran, MINA – Iran has rejected the prospect of talks with the United States, with officials warning that engagement with Washington would constitute a strategic mistake and emphasizing a firm military stance toward President Donald Trump, according to Al Mayadeen.

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated that “any form of negotiation with the ‘devil’ is a strategic error,” adding, “let the missiles negotiate with Donald Trump.”

The remarks closely follow Iran’s rejection of a 15-point US proposal conveyed via mediators, with Tehran asserting that it will not negotiate under fire, and any end to the war must be based on its terms and sovereignty.

A well-informed Iranian political and security source told Al Mayadeen on March 25 that Tehran has formally informed Pakistan it cannot accept the 15 clauses outlined in a US proposal delivered through mediators as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.

The source added that proposals put forward by Steve Witkoff were not even among Iran’s priorities for discussion, indicating that Tehran does not consider the initiative a serious or credible basis for negotiations. According to the same source, this position is unlikely to change.

The US plan, modeled on a similar proposal presented last year, reportedly calls on Iran to make sweeping concessions, particularly concerning its nuclear and missile programs, in exchange for halting retaliatory actions and reducing escalation.

Iranian officials, however, view these demands as coercive, arguing they seek to impose political and strategic outcomes under the pressure of ongoing military aggression. They maintain that, given the war was initiated by Washington and Israel, any attempt to dictate terms to Tehran effectively reverses responsibility by allowing the aggressor to set the conditions for de-escalation.

Within this framework, Tehran insists the war will only end on its own terms, emphasizing that no settlement can be reached unless Iran’s conditions are met and its sovereignty is fully recognized.

Earlier on March 25, a report by The Atlantic stated that Steve Witkoff had been in contact with Tehran through regional intermediaries, including Pakistan, in an effort to pressure Iran into accepting demands tied to its nuclear program.[]
