Doha, MINA – Sudan’s Minister of Justice, Abdullah Darf, has warned that the continued silence of the international community is enabling “ongoing suffering and repeated crimes” amid the country’s deepening crisis.
Speaking during a seminar titled “Sudan: Prospects for Peace and the Future of the State,” held as part of the 23rd Doha Forum in Qatar’s capital over the weekend, Darf emphasized that global inaction is worsening the humanitarian and security situation. The event was sponsored by the Emir of Qatar and supported by international media partners, including Anadolu Agency.
Darf underscored the need for a clear understanding of the nature of Sudan’s conflict, stressing that the situation “is not an internal conflict.” He placed primary responsibility on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), stating: “This militia has committed many crimes since 15 April 2023.”
He further asserted that the RSF receives external backing, noting that the group “has been supported from abroad, openly receiving weapons, and includes mercenaries from neighbouring countries and even South America.”

The minister’s remarks come amid ongoing displacement, with thousands fleeing violence in regions such as El Fasher. Newly established camps like El-Afadh in Northern State are struggling to accommodate the influx of civilians escaping intensified clashes.[]
