Ljubljana, MINA – Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon has condemned the ongoing military offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran, describing the actions as “unacceptable violations of international law,” according to a statement released by her ministry on Thursday.
In a post on the social media platform X, Fajon stated her clear condemnation of the joint attacks. However, she also directed criticism towards Tehran, “strongly” condemning Iran’s retaliatory strikes against countries in the region, which she characterized as “unjustified and indiscriminate attacks on civilian targets.”
Fajon’s comments come as the large-scale offensive, which began on Saturday, continues to escalate. Iranian authorities report that at least 926 people have been killed in the operations, a toll that includes high-profile figures such as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and senior military officials.
In response to the US-Israeli campaign, Iran has launched its own wave of drone and missile strikes, targeting Israeli territory as well as several Gulf nations that host American military assets. The Slovenian condemnation adds a European voice to the growing international discourse surrounding the conflict and its adherence to global norms.[]
