SETTLERS ATTACK PALESTINIAN MARKET IN J’LEM
Jerusalem, 15 Jumadil Awwal 1436/6 March 2015 (MINA) – Israeli settlers attack Palestinian properties in occupied Jerusalem as part of Israeli systematic displacement and Judaization policy in the holy city.
The Galicia Jewish school students have deliberately attacked Palestinian-owned shops in the Old City in Jerusalem in a desperate attempt to force their owners to leave the market, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The shopkeeper Sami Salhab said that the settlers used to throw waste on the shops’ roofs, which led to its accumulation and the clogging of storm water channels.
The settlers used to deliberately throw waste and woods on the roofs of the stores in the Old City’s market which cause flooding and property damage, the shopkeeper added.
Late month, the municipal work crews cleaned up the roofs. However, we were surprised yesterday that the waste has been accumulated again, he pointed out. The settlers’ attack is not the first of its kind, as they tirelessly attempt to confiscate the Palestinian-owned stores.
Salhab said that the settlers usually perform Talmudic rituals on the roofs of the stores that originally belong to the Islamic endowment authority.
He called on Jerusalemite institutions to provide the market’s shops with iron roof trusses to prevent any future attack. (T/P011/P3)
