Padang, MINA – Semen Padang faced PSIM Yogyakarta in the 2025/2026 BRI Super League match at Haji Agus Salim Stadium, Padang, on Wednesday evening.
Semen Padang, languishing at the bottom of the standings, is fighting hard to escape the relegation zone. Meanwhile, PSIM is aiming to secure all three points to strengthen its position at the top of the table.
Semen Padang coach Dejan Antonic and PSIM Yogyakarta coach Johannes van Gastel both used a 4-2-3-1 formation.
The first half was intense, with the Kabau Sirah team repeatedly threatening the goal, but their finishing was lacking.

The absence of Ze Valente for PSIM Yogyakarta made Laskar Mataram appear to lack an attacking force.
Fahreza’s deadly kick
In the 36th minute, the visitors struck. A fight for the ball between Fahreza Sudin (88) and Semen Padang defender Samuel Simanjuntak (12) inside the penalty box led to a nasty incident.
Fahreza’s high kick collided with Samuel’s head, causing the latter to fall to the ground.

The referee quickly called the medical team. After an examination, it was determined that Samuel’s head injury was serious.
Referee Naufal Adya then showed Fahreza a red card for the foul. Samuel was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
A remorseful Fahreza apologized to the home crowd before entering the dressing room.
The visiting team then played with ten men.
