Ljubljana, MINA – Saudi Arabia expressed support on Friday for ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, voicing hope that the talks will open a diplomatic path to ease tensions and promote regional peace and stability, Anadolu Agency reported.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan made the remarks at a press conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia, following meetings focused on efforts to consolidate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Bin Farhan stated that Riyadh hopes the crisis between Washington and Tehran can be resolved diplomatically, emphasizing dialogue as the only viable option to prevent further escalation in an already volatile region. “The region is burdened by multiple crises, and finding a diplomatic solution between the United States and Iran is essential for achieving peace and stability,” he said.
Indirect negotiations between the US and Iran began in Oman on Friday, aiming to defuse tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Turning to Gaza, the Saudi foreign minister noted that serious challenges persist regarding the flow of humanitarian aid into the enclave and the launch of reconstruction efforts, despite international engagement. He expressed hope that US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” would succeed in overcoming these obstacles, enabling sufficient and sustainable humanitarian access while supporting long-term reconstruction.
Bin Farhan also underscored the need to address the root causes of the Palestinian issue, stressing that lasting peace can only be achieved through a political solution based on the two-state framework.[]
