Jakarta, MINA – President Prabowo Subianto departed for Moscow, Russia, to meet with President Vladimir Putin on Sunday evening. He is expected to arrive in Moscow on Monday morning local time.
“Just before midnight on Sunday, April 12, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto departed for Moscow, Russia, for a state visit to meet with the Russian President,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account.
Teddy stated that Prabowo flew on national airline Garuda Indonesia. It took 12 hours non-stop to arrive in Moscow.
“President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the afternoon,” Teddy said.

Teddy stated that amidst the constantly changing global dynamics, this meeting is crucial. The two leaders will discuss strategic issues.
First, they will discuss energy security. According to Teddy, the discussions included continuing Indonesia’s cooperation with the Russian government and ensuring a stable national energy supply, including oil availability.
Second, global geopolitical issues were discussed. One aspect of the discussions was Indonesia’s strategic position in maintaining global stability and peace.
Teddy accompanied Prabowo directly to Moscow. Prabowo was also accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. []
