Surabaya, MINA – Persebaya Surabaya hosted PSM Makassar in Week 23 of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) on Wednesday evening.
Persebaya, with 35 points, sits in sixth place in the standings, competing with Bhayangkara FC in fifth and Persita Tangerang in seventh, each with the same number of points.
Meanwhile, PSM Makassar started the match from 13th place.
The interesting aspect was that Persebaya coach Bernardo Tavares faced his former club, PSM Makassar.

Bajul Ijo coach Tavares used a 4-2-3-1 formation, while Juku Eja coach Tomas Trucha used a 3-4-1-2 formation.
The first half was a tight affair, with the home team dominating possession and attack. Persebaya players launched several dangerous attacks, but goalkeeper Reza Arya Pratama (30) performed brilliantly, thwarting every shot from the Bajul Ijo.
It wasn’t until the 27th minute that Persebaya scored the first goal of the match. Goalkeeper Reza Arya Pratama (30), who had been brilliant from the start, had to cede his goal to Gali Freitas (22).
