PALESTINIAN GOVERNMENT DENOUNCES KNESSET DELIBERATIONS ON ISRAELI SOVEREIGNTY OVER AL AQSA

Gaza City, 27 Rabiul Akhir 1435 / 27 February 2014 (MINA) Palestinian Government in Gaza denounces the Israeli Knesset deliberations over assuming full sovereignty over Al Aqsa Mosque. It appeals to Government of Jordan, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take action to put an end to this new terrorism.

According to ALRAY, Palestinian Media Agency report quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), the Palestinian Government in Gaza held its weekly meeting No (330) and concluded with the following statement:

Palestinian Government denounces the Israeli Knesset deliberations over assuming full sovereignty over Al Aqsa Mosque. It appeals to Government of Jordan, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take action to put an end to this new terrorism.

Government acclaims UN Human Rights Rapporteur Mr. Richard Falk’s statements calling for an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip while disapproves the silence of the international community on Israeli blockade which lasted for the eight consecutive year. It affirms that it is still mounting efforts to break the suffocating siege and provide a decent life for the Palestinians.

Government pays condolences to the Palestinians and to the bereaved family of Sheikh Abdul Karim al-Kahlout, the Mufti of Gaza and one of the leading Sharia scholars, the Palestinian Government in Gaza, said in press release monitored by MINA, Thursday.

It appreciates the incessant efforts to put an end to the ordeal of the Yarmouk refugee camp, which has lasted for nearly nine months, so that the displaced could find a way back to their homes. It calls on all parties to the cease-fire agreement to commit to it to bring the life in the camp to normalcy.

Government thanks Republic of Turkey for its endeavors to help the Palestinian refugees fleeing the brunt of war in Syria, granting them temporary residency permits.

Government praises the Arab League’s position calling to commission international committee to the occupied territories probe the situation of the Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails.

Palestinian Government pays homage to all institutions and associations that push for political, academic and commercial boycott of Israel for its colonial settlement activity in the West Bank. It also acknowledges Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) , which is organized by university students in Europe, calling to expose Israel’s discriminative measures before the world.

Government confirms that the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre of Palestinian worshipers will not be wiped off the memory of the Palestinian people, and the Arab and Islamic nation. It will remain a witness to the orgy of Zionist settlers’ extremism.

Jordanian MPs Vote to Expel Israeli Ambassador to Jordan

Meanwhile from Amman, WAFA, Palestinian News & Info Agency quoted by MINA as reporting that the Jordanian MPs voted unanimously Wednesday to expel the Israeli Ambassador to Jordan in protest of Knesset proposal to withdraw Jordanian custodianship and sovereignty over Al-Aqsa.

Jordan News Agency (PETRA) reported that the Jordanian Parliament held a session Wednesday to discuss the Israeli Parliament’s debate of extending the Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem.

The Jordanian MPs voted unanimously in favor of the proposes made by the Committee of Palestine to expel the Israeli Ambassador to Jordan, Daniel Nevo, and recall the Jordanian Ambassador to Israel, Walid Obeidat.

As part of discussing the revocation of the Jordanian sovereignty over the holy sites in Jerusalem by the Knesset, the Jordanian MPs called for taking immediate measures to prevent Israel from carrying out its scheme.

They stated that extending the Israeli sovereignty over the Al-Aqsa Mosque would put the Jordanian Israeli peace treaty at stake, stressing that the Jordanian Government would present a bill to annul the peace treaty with Israel, expel Nevo and recall Obeidat should Israel extend its sovereignity over Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
