Jakarta, MINA – Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdul Fattah Al-Sattari expressed his gratitude and emotion over the immense support of the Indonesian people for the Palestinian struggle. He admitted that during his time in Indonesia, he felt as if he were in his own country.
“By Allah, I feel in Indonesia like I am in my own country. I feel the great enthusiasm and love of the Indonesian people for Palestine. Thank you, Indonesia,” Al-Sattari said while attending the one-decade anniversary of SMART 171 at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday.
On that occasion, Al-Sattari also explained why the people of Gaza remain steadfast in facing the suffering caused by Israel’s prolonged aggression and blockade. According to him, the resilience of Gaza’s people stems from the strong religious education embedded in their daily lives.
“In schools, in mosques, in families, and in every place, they always talk about religion. That is why the people of Gaza understand the meaning of patience, struggle, and sacrifice,” he said in front of an audience dominated by young people.

The event carried the theme “Nurturing Solidarity, Sustaining the Movement” and served as a moment of reflection on the decade-long journey of SMART 171, or Solidarity of Muslim for Al-Quds Resist 171. This non-governmental organization is known for its active work in humanitarian issues and solidarity for Palestine.
SMART 171 is a movement that not only focuses on delivering humanitarian aid but also on raising awareness among the younger generation to care about global humanitarian issues, particularly Palestine. Education is carried out through seminars, social actions, digital campaigns, and humanitarian fundraising.
Indonesian public support for Palestine has continued to grow, through solidarity actions, humanitarian aid, joint prayers, and people’s diplomacy. Indonesia itself consistently expresses its support for Palestinian independence and rejects all forms of colonization in the world.[]
